August 6, 2007, a day of traditions: Brooklyn hot dogs & fries (Nathan's), Ukrainian dumplings (Cafe Glechik, Brighton Beach), baseball and boardwalk. The Aberdeen Ironbirds trounced the Brooklyn Cyclones 11-5. We also braved a sliding car on the granddaddy of ferris wheels, the famous Wonder Wheel, though some were braver than others.

We enjoyed a fine Russian dinner on Coney Island Ave of dumplings of all kinds (but no potato stuffing for Pete). Joe thought he was adding some Russian beer but got duped by local merchant (beer was Polish, but was still apt for occasion)
We were all amazed to hear virtually no English spoken (mostly Russian) in neighborhood.
By chance Joe came across enlightening article about diversity on Coney Island Ave. and how everyone seems to get along. Article offered many possible explanations,
including - "make money, not war".
